New York
City has three major
airports:
LaGuardia (LGA),
Kennedy (JFK), and
Newark
(EWR). Flying into any of
them is easy, and you can
get ground transportation
from your airport to
Manhattan with very little
trouble.

LaGuardia ground
transportation options

-
Kennedy ground
transportation options
are available
here.
-
Newark
ground transportation
options are available
here.
We usually recommend that
our guests fly into
LaGuardia Airport (LGA).
Catching a cab from
LaGuardia to the Financial
District is very simple and
costs about $34 (including a
15% tip). Public
transportation from
LaGuardia is also an option,
but it requires a tricky
transfer which can be
difficult if you are
carrying several bags. Take
the M60 Bus from the airport
to the Hoyt Ave stop in
Astoria. There, you can
switch to the N or Q train
for free. Once in Manhattan,
switch to the R train which
runs on the same line in
Manhattan but goes to the
Financial District whereas
the N and Q do not (The bus
costs $2.25. You must
purchase a MetroCard or use
in change. Bills are not
accepted. When paying the
bus fare, inform the driver
that you will be
transferring to the Astoria
Boulevard subway so you can
receive a free transfer
pass.) When you exit the
subway at Rector Street,
walk east until hitting
Broadway, then follow that
south to the college.
For visitors arriving at JFK
or Newark Airport, coach and
shuttle services are
available to the Port
Authority Bus Terminal or
Grand Central Station. From
the Port Authority, take the
downtown 1 train to Rector
Street, walk east until
hitting Broadway, then walk
south to the college. Taxis
are available at the airport
and are the recommended
method of travel if you have
a lot of luggage. Plan to
spend about $55 when
traveling by taxi from JFK
and $45 from Newark
(including 15% tip).
