Spring 2010 Distinguished Visitors SeriesLeading Writers,
Activists, Musicians, and Artists ... a Part of The King’s College Plan to
Become a Center For Christian Thought in the Heart of New York City
NEW YORK—The King’s College plans to have 31 political, economic, and
cultural leaders on its Empire State Building campus during the spring semester
as part of the college’s Distinguished Visitor Series. Among the well-known
visitors are Dick Armey, Robert George, Norman Podhoretz, Rick Santorum, John
Stossel, and N.T. Wright.
Dr. Marvin Olasky, the editor-in-chief of WORLD magazine, will interview
guests and then invite student questions. Responses by the distinguished
visitors become the basis for a magazine article that allows the visitors to
communicate not only with students, but also with WORLD’s 400,000 readers.
Olasky said that the students’ ability to see the entire process – from “event
to print” – provides an extra learning dimension.
“The Distinguished Visitors Series has been an exciting development in the
life of The King’s College this year,” Olasky said. “Our students get to meet
leaders from politics, media, theology, and many other realms. The King’s
College’s unique location – in the heart of New York City – and the synergies
we’ve created with WORLD have allowed us to offer both our students and our
distinguished visitors a unique and valuable experience.”
