LIT 254  The Fantasy and Science Fiction of C.S. Lewis

Description
This course looks at the key themes, images, characters and social critique that can be drawn from the seven-volume Chronicles of Narnia and The Space Trilogy. The course will also explore biographical elements of C.S. Lewis's life - from his conversion from atheism to Christianity. Students will use Surprised by Joy to deepen their understanding of Lewis's convictions, writing and relationships.

Instructor

Dr. Bruce L. Edwards is Professor of English and Associate Dean for Distance Education and International Programs at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. He is the author of several books and many scholarly articles on the life and works of C. S. Lewis. He and his wife, Joan, live in Bowling Green and have four grown children.
