Registration for your Spring 2013 courses is a two step process:
Step 1. Meet with your academic advisor
to select your courses during the advising period. See details below.
Step 2. Log into the
student portal and
register for your courses when registration opens for your college level.
See the above dates.
Before your advisement appointment…
Course Offering
The Spring 2013 course offering is posted in the
student portal. To view the course list, set the term to "SP-13" and go to
“Course Offering” under “Administrative Services.” Here you will be able
view course schedules, instructors, and classrooms. If you select the course
title, a window will open showing the course description and required
pre-requisites. There is also a link for textbook information about each
course.
Holds
You will be blocked from registering if you have a hold on you student
account. To see if you have a hold on your account, log into your student
portal and go to “My Grades.” To resolve your holds prior to registration,
contact the following.
Degree Audits
If you have declared a major, you can review your degree audit on your
student portal (“Degree Audit
Options”). Review this page prior to your advising appointment. If you have
not declared a major, please do so through your
Student Portal.
Advisement
Students with 0-29 credits projected to be earned by the end of the semester
are advised by the Registrar Staff. Students with 30+ projected earned
credits are advised by an assigned faculty member in your major. Your
designated advisor will contact you prior to the advisement period to begin
scheduling advising appointments. During your advising appointment you will
complete a Registration
Agreement Form that both you and your advisor will sign. You should
select several alternate courses in consultation with your advisor in the
event that your first option is already full when you register online. You
will not be permitted to register until you meet with your advisor. (If you
are unsure who your advisor is, log into your student portal and select “My
Grades.” If you cannot load your grades due to a hold, see above.)
Registration
After you have been advised and registration opens for your college level,
complete the registration process through your student portal. For detailed
registration instructions, click here. Any registration transactions that
stray from the approved class schedule will necessitate administrative
revisions by the Registrar’s Office.
If you have been advised to register for credits above or below a
regular load, you must complete the
Permission to Take an Increased or Reduced Course Load form during your
advising appointment and return it to the Registrar’s Office for processing
before you will be able to register.
In order to ensure the best chance of getting your preferred
class schedule, you should register online as soon as registration opens for
your college level.
Special Registrations
There are several courses including Senior Thesis, Senior Project, and
Internship, that require special permission and you will not be able to
register for them through the student portal. Bring a copy of your
Registration Agreement Form to the Registrar’s Office in order to register
for these courses.
