School of BusinessFaith and Business
The King's College School of Business prepares students for success
as they live out their faith in their profession. Our approach differs in
two key ways from most undergraduate business programs:
First, we approach business as one of our nation’s (and the world’s)
strategic institutions. Business students at The King’s College learn not
just the techniques of management, such as accounting and marketing, but
also how to understand the social, political, and economic foundations of
free markets. This prepares our graduates to become the innovators and
leaders of an increasingly globalized economy. We do not seek simply to
prepare students for their first job on Wall Street or Madison Avenue. We
prepare them for careers in which they can expertly, confidently, and
ethically work with colleagues in Zurich, Jakarta, and Cape Town, as easily
as their colleagues in Trenton, Denver, and Minneapolis. Business leadership
today requires agility to act wisely within the moment, while never losing
sight of the long view. By grounding the study of business in history,
economics, and politics, we seek to put students on the path to this kind of
balanced insight.
Second, The King’s College School of Business teaches students the link
between faith and work. Every Christian is called to full time Christian
ministry, in that they should view their profession as an extension of their
faith. God created man in His own image by giving him the ability to become
partners in creation. Man's creative ability was paired with a
responsibility to care for and rule creation by engaging in a co-creative
process with God. As a part of the King's College School of Business,
students learn how to fulfill this mandate in business through management,
marketing, finance and entrepreneurship.
Students in the program are encouraged to solidify this knowledge by
taking advantage of internship opportunities. As Business students engage in their classes and take
advantage of extracurricular and professional opportunities offered by The
King's College School of Business, our students will learn how to identify
risks and opportunities, optimize performance with limited resources, and to
manage and inspire human talent.

As King's helps students learn to integrate their faith and work, the
School of Business will be partnering with the Christian Fellowship at
Yale's graduate School of Management to host the 2012 Believers in Business
conference.
