Whew! This sure has been one hard semester. This year my friends I went back to the local college to refresh my graphics skills and learn CS3 software. Only 9 credits but very rigorous! It really is challenging to return to college after all of these years, but I love the courses. Sad to think none of this even existed when I was back amongst those foothills in Westchester! In addition I took a part time job in retail which I thought would be fun, but turned out to me quite the challenge and then, as if I weren't busy enough, I felt that gentle tug from the Holy Spirit to help my poor parish. So Butch began a "Welcome Mat Ministry" based on an article I read in "In Touch" Magazine. The church made me the chair of the committee and after all these years I find myself relying on those things I learned at TKC back in the day. They say that every King's student is equipped to "plant churches" by the time they graduate from the college. Maybe they slip into us during chapel, or perhaps it was in one of the many wonderful conversations and speeches Dr. Cook gave. But I find I am equipped to chair a ministry! And it is amazing. For those of you who are interested, you may read about it at: www.aimsussexs.com. So I went to college two days a week, worked grueling manual strenuous labor 4 days a week and then the ministry for the balance and I count it all joy! The future will change for and I'll be back in the rat race of Manhattan or points West, but it was so great to have this time at college and remember those wonderful days at King's which remain alive and well always. In my mind the buildings still stand, Mama and Papa are baking bread and wet Irish setters are roaming the campus! Did that world really exist? It seems hard to believe, but it did and for a time, it was magical. And to paraphrase "Yale":
Bright College years, with pleasure rife, The shortest, gladdest years of life; How swiftly are ye gliding by! Oh, why doth time so quickly fly?
The seasons come, the seasons go, The earth is green or white with snow, Though time and change to the spirit clings, T'will not break the friendships formed at Kings.
In after years, should troubles rise To cloud the blue of sunny skies, How bright will seem, through mem'ry's haze Those happy, golden, bygone days!
Oh, let us strive that ever we May let these words our watch-cry be, Where'er upon life's fortune brings: "For God, for Country and for Kings!"
Happy Holidays King's Family!
Best, Butch Smiraldi Eternal Tarryhill Boy |

| Reading updates from people takes you back to those days. It's great to hear how everyone is doing. I've been married 24 happy years. I have taught for most of the years after I graduated and was a principal of a small Christian school we were a part in starting here in Bradenton for the past 10 years. I resigned last year to go back to the classroom part-time and spend more time with my kids. I have 3 great kids 15, 13 and 7. I have been looking to reconnect with Michelle Edwards. Has anyone had contact with her? |

| I don't know how many of you will remember me, but I attended King's in 1971, but had to leave for personal reasons before the end of the first semester. I'm hoping that someone might know how to get a hold of my roommate, Ken Baker. I've lost touch with him and it has been close to 20 years. I know he was living in upstate NY near his home town of Speculator. If anyone has any information on Ken I would really appreciate it. I was surprised to see how many people I remembered from the short time I was there. Bob Fischer, Howard Kenworthy, Besty Wiegand (she cut my hair for the start of Basketball season when I was there), Nancy Caruthers and some of her camping friends, Clarine Johnson who I would bum a ride with when she was either going home or coming back from Hazlet,NJ. I hope all are well. Have a Happy Thanksgiving! |

| Of course, I didn't graduate in 1990--I am Houghton College, Class of 1962, Duke, 1964 (MA), and NYU 1971 (Ph.D)--but that was my last year teaching at TKC. I then taught as a Visiting Professor in Victorian Literature at NYU for a year, spent two years at Nyack (with a BIG problem over the "Support Gay Rights" button on my briefcase), and eight very happy years at CUNY, Bronx Community College. I retired--and am back teaching one course a year at Fordham University, Lincoln Center. Jim now teaches composition at CUNY, LaGuardia Community College, does Sunday jobs as organist, preacher, or celebrant in the Episcopal Church, and studies, believe it or not, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. We still sing in the New York Choral Society. I'm now at least functional in Spanish, but we still study in Guatemala two weeks a year, one on one, with a home stay. Our family thrives--Anne in the Bronx with her husband David and their son Justin, and John in NJ with his wife Veronica and their two boys, Luke and Kai. I don't write much now--but I am becoming a photographer. |

| My name is Greg Lloyd and I attended Kings in 1992-1993. I played baseball that year and i am from Shelby NC. Kings dropped the Baseball program so i transfered back home to Gardner-Webb to continue my education. I had some really great friends that i have not heard from in many years. I lived on the 7th floor that year and had a blast. Hope everyone is doing well. |

| Fond memories of Briarcliff Manor. Hard to believe it's been more than 40 years!! I would love to hear from old roommates. I've worked at the CIA for the past 25+ years designing and teaching leadership -- feel like I've gone full circle after teaching high school! I'm also an executive coach and head up the Agency Coaching Program. I'm having too much fun to retire. My husband and I live in Fairfax, VA. We have one son who lives in Washington, D.C. He's a graduate of Savannah College of Art & Design and works as a digital assistant for an industrial artist. We've been active in a wonderful Methodist church for many years. |

As a travel throughout the world I get to meet many King's graduates. I will always thank God for the four years of wonderful training - all that practicing in the music room down the hill has not only strengthened my legs but has also strenghened my fingers.

Hi, to Bob Fischer & Ruth Inskeep who posted messages on here. Made contact this year with King's friends Mike McGinty who is home from mission field in Japan, Bruce Longenecker, Dave Anderson and Rob Van Ness. Our annual camping trip with all us King's girls is already scheduled for July, 2009. I posted a memorial page for Alan Hall on findagrave.com, enter his name as Alan Douglas Hall. There is a picture and you can post thoughts if you want. Does anyone keep in touch with Scott Darling or know how to get in touch with him? Hello TKC. Cindy (Jackman '74) & I just celebrated our 34th anniversary - many of you will be shocked she has put up with me so long, and others will have to pay up on some bets! We have two grown children, one of whom is a Youth Pastor & the other married a fine christian man. Both live nearby with our three grandsons (2-1/2 & younger).
Cindy works as an operations & space planner for Community Health Centers and travels across the country. I work as a School Counselor near Leesburg in Loudoun County, VA, and last year one of my students enrolled at King's!
We live in Shepherdstown, WV (near Harpers Ferry, not too far from either DC or Baltimore). We are both active at Independent Bible Church in Martinsburg, WV, where I am a Board member. Would love to hear more updates from the Classes just before and after '74. |

At the end of April I accepted the position of Interim Executive Director of UIM International. UIM is a mission agency working to establish church with indigenous peoples in North America (U.S., Canada, & Mexico). It is a challenging position. We are seeking my replacement. We are also seeking to fill three other administrative positions. Therefore, I would ask the alumni to uphold me and UIM in prayer.
While I work out of my home in Tucson, AZ, I spend some time each month at our Business and Services Center in Glendale, AZ and at our International Office in Greeley, CO.
If any alumni live in any of these areas I would consider it a privilege to be able to visit with them. Just contact me. |

Audra (De Palma), You sat next to me in English, well in the corner with me with Julie, You two were the "freaks" depeche mode ppl..Gretchen Wirth, Rick Millham ,Siobhan and her brother, whose name escapes me, remember the pool party at their house!! good times. I soo wish I was able to finish school with all of you I cried the whole way back home to LI. and even more when I saw that the placewe all first met ,was abandoned for ruins. I hop all of you are doing well. As for myself, divorced 2x's, 3 children, 19 ,17, and 6 well the 6 yo is my pride and joy now. Thanks to Sharon Hedgepeth for contacting me via Mary Jane Whiteley.
Happily married for 7+ years to my husband Frank, with two beautiful daughters Natalie (6) and Julie (5). My husband works for Hillsborough County as a Code Investigator and is a Deacon in our church.
I graduated from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. I relocated to Florida with the rest of my family, and have been taking care of dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, small mammals, and the occasional goat or pot-bellied pig ever since. I've worked in private practice, in an animal shelter, and for an avian specialist, and am now working in an 8 doctor small animal practice two miles from my home for the past five years. Our family is very blessed.
I stay in touch with Mary Beth (Taylor) Bradshaw, occasionally hear from Paul and Stephanie Whitney (missionaries in Africa), and e-mail Dr. Frair from time to time. I received a wonderful education in Biology at King's, but obviously the college has moved in a new direction. I also remember Dr Cook with fondness, and can still hear his voice saying "Walk with the King today, and be a blessing" |

Recently, I had a chance to drive through Briarcliff Manor. As I drove up to what was once the main entrance, I was disheartened to find you could no longer access the campus. The road looked as if it has been washed away. I tried to enter by the old gym but that too was blocked. I finally went up by Dr. Cook's home. No access could be gained. What I could see throughout the whole trip was only the water tower, the pond and Dr. Cook's Home.
Since then I did a google map of the area and confirmed that was all that was left. I will always be thankful for the years spent at Kings. |

Since I live in southern Colorado it is not easy to drop in but if enough of us plan for it ahead of time it would be great to reconnect with those I so happily remember.
It was a blessing to see Dr. Cook's picture on the website since I have been listening to rebroadcasts of his radio programs on family radio. It was a real privilege to have such a gracious man of God for our college president. Those are blessed memories.

| Has anybody visited the old campus in Briarcliff Manor recently. I stopped by and after walking the old loop was overwhelmed with sadness to see the grounds so over grown ...almost as if the college never existed. The same day however on my way to Albany I caught the late Dr. Cook on the radio and was much encouraged that even the though the physical presence is only a memory the spirit of the place and him is still having its effect around the world....and what happen to the "Purple Knights"....don't tell me we capitulated to political correctness! |

Dear All:
Greetings fellow Alum.
I just received an email this morning from Kurt O'Brien, a fellow Tarryhiller, the Robert Backfische died last March of pneumonia.
I remember Rob well. He started King's with me back in 1983. Together he and I went to his favorite store "Neiman Marcus" in White Plains in order to buy a suitable present for our House Parents, The Burwells. I tried to tell Rob that most of the guys at Tarry Hill couldn't afford a present from that store, but Rob persisted and we finally settled on a rather pricey vase. I told Rob that we hadn't the budget for it (we'd all chipped in a few dollars), but he said, "well you heard the salespeople, this IS a suitable gift for them." And so we purchased it and the Burwells seemed very surprized.
We had happy times back in the days when we all lived together on the vast estate in Ossining that once was Tarry Hill.
At the end of my second term I had that feeling of being overwhelmed just after the Bible Final. I left the class early and went up to the roof of the Men's domormitory (it was open in those days during construction). I just wanted a bit of fresh air and to survey the views of the Hudson and of the Briar Hall (now Trump) golf course. Rob followed me up. He was worried for the worst. I was touched when he came up to the roof and escorted me down from the roof and then took me in his baby blue chevelle to the Pleasantville diner to "blow of some stress." There was one other time when he took my friend Susan Sutherland and I to Huckleberrie's in Yorktown Heights for Waffles with icecream or a mudslide. Those were wonderful times. He was very kind and generous. Years later we lost touch. He fell in with one group and I with another and we never had the friendship that we had shared during those formative first months at TKC in Briarcliff. But he was a friend and part of our original gang of sixty.
So join me and say a prayer for Rob's parents. It's always sad to lose a friend so young. Rob was around 43.
All the best, Butch S. Eternal Tarryhiller |

Hi Northeastern Alumni!
For those who attended from 1975-1980, my wife Sue (Vaughan) Lent 80' say "Hello!" Has it been that long since we graduated? WOW!
We're living in Lansdale, Pa. We were married in June 1980. We have one daughter, Sarah, 22, a student at Clearwater Christian College.
Has anyone who attened from 1975-1980 heard from, Dan McBride, Al Trcarico, Russ Murphy, Rich Horak, Maureen Lawliss, Gayle Hull, or Audrey Benmuvhar? Just wondering where they ended up.
Take care and God bless.

| Naomi, I'm just 9 months late in seeing your post. I too teach LPN's at the Jacksonville, FL Community College. I just attended 40th Columbia/Presbyterian reunion, was reminded of so much that I had not thought about in all those years. I'm actually on the TKC website because Charlotte Abbey Hopewell was one of the few members of our nursing class that we could not find. Anyone know of her whereabouts? |

Just wanted to say hi to anyone out there from 1973 class! I live in Lakeland, Florida where I am the Family Pastor at Heritage Baptist Church. My wife, Patty and I met while traveling with Word of Life and we just celebrated 33 years of marriage. Seems impossible! We have four children, with a 14 year old still at home. The rest are married- we have 5 grand kids. Patty and I still do some family life conferences around the country, which we really enjoy. I would love to hear from any of you. God bless! Bob |

| Ruthie Inskeep and I have been married for the past 35 years. We have two adult children, James is married, and Emily is getting married September 27, 2008. No grandchildren yet. The children live in Southern California too. I retired from the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department after 30 years of fun. Ruthie and I have been raising Guide Dog Puppies for Guide Dogs of the Desert for 12 years. I volunteer at the guide dog school often and also with the city in which I live (Yucaipa). Retired life is good and allows me to do the things I still enjoy, such as gardening, traveling and volunteer work. We have had some great trips to interesting and challenging places. Ruthie continues to work three days a week as a Registered Dental Hygienist In San Dimas. I still keep in touch with Ray Brown, Paulette (Johnson) Brown, J. Kent Ward and Dean Ryder. I lost contact with Doug Scott and Gordie Webster. If you guys are out there, drop me a line to let me know where you are and what you are up to. Gordie, the ladies in San Diego still miss you. Anyone else who remembers us, feel free to dop us a line. I visited the Briarcliff campus a few months before it burned down. It brought back some good memories of fun times with good people. |

| Greetings friends of Northeastern Bible College! My wife (Cindy Moen) and I are residing happily in the beautiful Southwestern US where there's lots of room for my 6 kids, our animals and our noise! Two of our kids are "homegrown", three are adopted and one is about to be adopted. Cindy is homeschooling the younger ones (imagine that)! I'm very active in a small Baptist church and working full-time with a company that places foster kids with foster families. I still love the Mets, I still love Star Wars and of course, I love the Lord for the way He has blessed us. It would be great to hear from all of you! Go Lancers! |

Hey Guys,
I'm really looking forward to coming to homecoming and seeing all of the wonderful people from the past and hopefully get a chance to meet and interact with current students and staff. I haven't been to a homecoming since 1987...that's 21 years. My buddy Jonathan Steele, class of 1986, has kept me informed and I'm so excited to see you guys.
I understand that King's has moved to a new location. I was wondering if we are allowed to visit the old campus in Briarcliff, NY. Please advise. I really want to visit the old location. |

First time I have seen this website and what a great connection with one of my favorite memories...my years at King's. Jacqui, don't know if you remember me, but I saw your posts from quite awhile ago and appreciated your candor and will pray even now that things are resolved. Our God is mighty. Right after graduation, I married Buddy and we celebrate 26 years tomorrow. He is heading down to Liberty Univ. with our oldest, Megan, for her junior year there (she is 20), Bobby is almost 17 and I am staying home thanks to football camp! He is 6'5" and loves football and ice hockey. Great kid. Our youngest is Kristen, almost 13, loves music, field hockey and ministry to disabled. We have gotten very involved with Joni and Friends family retreats and will never be the same.
I still sing when God gives me the opportunity, homeschool my kids, and stay way too busy. I have kept in touch with Chris Odell mostly and my dear friend, Janette (Biehn) Araya...many of you are precious memories to me as well. Sergio, I saw your name in there somewhere! I remember you well!
Love Kings. Love our Lord. Thankful for both in my life. Andi Colmery |

| Ed Hermann's recent message encouraged me to write this note. Ed, Jim Hollister and I were roomates on the 7th floor. Jim Hollister made it through the year despite having cancer. However, he died a few months later. His college friends took up a collection and purchased a display case that was put in the Science Department. On it was a plaque that read "In memory of James Lauren Hollister...from his friends who saw Jesus Christ in his life." After the college closed, I contacted Dr. Frair and he allowed me to purchase this display case. Any other buyer would have removed the plaque. Those of you who donated to its original purchase now know where it ended up. My wife, Lillian, and I have three children and six grandchildren. I work for the county Department of Aging as a coordinator of aging services. |

I've recently joined Facebook.com because my high school is throwing a reunion but I've found college friends too. It's a free site and fun. I've already connected with TKC alums. I've also created a group in Facebook called 'King's College Graduates from Briarcliff Manor, NY'. RICHMOND, Va. (ABP) -- Trustees of Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond have elected Israel Galindo as the 19-year-old school's new dean.
Galindo, a Christian education professor at the Virginia seminary, was elected June 17. He replaces Mike Harton, who has served as interim dean for the past two years.
Galindo also serves as the principal of a consulting firm. Born in Cuba and reared in New York, he joined the seminary staff in 1999 after several years as a local-church educator and principal for private schools.
He holds a doctorate in education from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
A popular seminar and workshop leader, Galindo has expertise in Bowen Family Systems theory as applied to parenting, congregational life and leadership development. He has written widely and has several books in print, including an Alban Institute bestseller, The Hidden Lives of Congregations.
As dean, he will lead faculty in curriculum development and evaluation, in instructional development, and will serve on the seminary's administrative team.
"Dr. Galindo's academic expertise and extensive experience in local congregational ministry will provide great dividends to BTSR and her students," seminary President Ron Crawford said about the new dean. "He understands the challenges of the 21st century on local church ministry and will strengthen our efforts to prepare women and men for ministry around the world."

| Hello TKC class of 1985! Found this site a while ago, but it took some time to get re-organized after our move. Rick (1985) and I recently moved to the Allentown area of Pennsylvania from Northern Virginia where we had lived since we got married (many years ago.) We have one daughter in college down in Virginia and one son, a senior in high school.
We now live near Rick's brother Bob and his wife Sonia -- both alums of King's -- but I don't remember the year -- sometime 1990's. My other brother Konrad Vesey (1987) is living in Maryland with his wife Nancy (Colantonio, 1987) and two young sons. My mom, (Dorothy Lasher Vesey -- TKC class of 1950 something), is still living in Northern Virginia working as a kindergarten teacher's aide.
Well, that's where my personal TKC family is.

I will have to read the rest over the weekend. To sum up the last 14 years of my life...God is the center of my life now instead of me. God is great. He was and is still patient with me. I am currently living in north east PA about 20 miles away from Brian Blenis (transferred to Eastern '95?). I have used my business degree well and I am now a Physical Therapist, ha!. All of those smelly feet and ankles that I tapped for soccer and softball paid off. God Bless and I look forward to reading more about everyone else. |

Hello to the TKC family,
Its been too many years! I'm presently in Iraq on my second tour of duty in the cradle of civilization. I am a military aviator, flying airplanes for the U.S. Army. My wife Carolyn and my son Iain (14) and daughter Shirley (13) are still at home in the suburbs of Chicago. We would covet your prayers. Pray that they would have strength, both emotionally and physically. In my opinion they bear the greatest burden in all of this. They are the true hero's in my book! I am hoping to be home by the fall. The last time I was in Iraq I was able to climb the ziggurat at Ur. I was thinking of how Dr Vos would love to be there with me to see the place were Abraham was born! Does anyone have an email address for Dr Vos? I would love to hear from other TKC grads that are in the Chicago area. I attend Willow Creek Community Church and was at a church sponsored father-daughter date night last year when I looked up and recognized Tim Clancey (1984?). He also attends Willow Creek. We had breakfast with Karla Blaha (1987) a few months ago and she is doing well in Michigan.
Thanks Paul & Terry for forwarding our update to the bulletin board.
