Dean O'Leary - Head Coach, Men's Soccer
Dean O’Leary was named The King’s College’s first head coach in January 2012. He took over the role of the Men’s soccer programs head coach after a successful period at Bergen Catholic High School in Oradell, N.J.
Coach O’Leary, a former professional and semi- professional player in his native England, began coaching in New Jersey during the 2005 season. Since that time he has led the U17 and U18 boy’s teams at Match Fit Academy Chelsea to numerous elite level tournament victories; Jefferson Cup winners (2012), Surf Cup Quarter finalists (2008 and 2011), Disney Soccer Showcase finalists (2010 and 2011), MSSL Winter Showcase winners (2010 and 2011), Annandale Premier finalists (2010).
He has also coached numerous elite goalkeepers that are currently involved in the US and England national youth set up, in addition to starting goalkeepers at some of the country’s best college soccer programs.
O'Leary is a longtime coach with the Match Fit Chelsea Academy program, currently leading the boys' U17/18 Pre-Academy program. Prior to The King’s College he was also the Director of Goalkeeping at the Soccer Domain Academy in Montclair, NJ.
O’Leary is a 1999 graduate of the Putteridge High school system in Luton, England where he was a four-year starter for the soccer program that went unbeaten in their final two years of competition, and still remain the schools most successful team of any sport to date.
O’Leary owns a UEFA 'B' coaching license and an NSCAA National Goalkeeping Diploma. O’Leary resides in Randolph, NJ and is recently married to Elizabeth O’Leary.
Eric Finley - Assistant Coach, Men's Soccer
Coach Finley has been involved in soccer as a player and coach for over 30 years. He played at Scotch Plains-Fanwood Soccer High School (New Jersey) where he was a 3 year varsity player. His teams won Group 3 State Championships in 1991 and in 1992. As the starting sweeper in 1992, he led his team to an overall 22-0-2 record, having won the the conference, county and state championships, as well as finishing #2 in the NSCAA National High School Top 20 Poll. In 1993 he earned First Team All-County honors along with All-State recognition.
Coach Finley continued his playing career at Monmouth University, a Division 1 program. He has been coaching soccer for over 10 years and in that time has worked with age groups from U6 - U23, for clubs such as Scotch Plains-Fanwood Travel, Peninsula Soccer Club and U.S. Parma Soccer Club.
