Jessie Schnoebelen, Women’s Volleyball, Sophomore, California
What are your thoughts on the team so far this season and looking ahead to next year?
It has been a pleasure playing with this year's volleyball Lady Lions. Having a team of all sophomores or upperclassmen has helped with the team bonding to build a strong base. We have come far since the first practice on the sand courts. The strength and stamina of my teammates as they balance their tasks and responsibilities as Kingsian college students while still getting up for 6:30am practices blows my mind. Pitch Perfect is our jam and bus rides are never boring. Looking forward to building athletic school pride and awareness for the volleyball team and making it the best experience it can be for the freshman athletes.
When did you begin playing volleyball and what are some of your earliest memories of it?
I began playing volleyball in eighth grade with bright giant yellow knee pads. My earliest memories are serving out the back of the court a lot because I didn't know how to control my swimmer strength and thinking "Wow, I really like this sport!"
What brought you to King’s?
The small size of King's caught my attention, the location drew me in, the liberal arts grounding got me hooked and the business school sold me. Being from San Diego, it was a difficult decision to leave my parents and three little siblings but I wanted to grow and be an adult and The King's College was the place to do that. I am so grateful for the opportunity to play both volleyball and basketball for my school and develop relationships with my classmates through team aspect of sports.
