Alexandra Rollis Named to HVIAC 2013 All-Conference Team
Alexandra Rollis, a sophomore outside hitter from Albany, NY was named to the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference All-Conference Team. She joins 13 other young women from the HVIAC in receiving this honor. The Lady Lions captain enjoyed a successful first year of collegiate volleyball. Earlier in the season she was awarded the honor of being selected to the All-Tournament Team at the Sarah Lawrence College Tournament. She helped TKC win their last four games, all 3-0 results, and five out of the last seven to end the season. She led the team in kills (112), kills per set (2.87), total attempts (415), points (138.5) and points per set (3.6). In fitting and dramatic fashion Rollis closed out the final set in the final match of the season spiking the ball for a 25-22 third set win in a 3-0 match victory against Valley Forge Christian. Coach Tiffany Firebaugh summed it up, "Alex Rollis played an integral role in our success as a team this season. She consistently delivered a high level of physical and emotional stability on the court, which greatly helped the less experienced players find their rhythm. Not only was she the player that our team seemed to look to in order to get the job done when we were in a bind, Alex also brought up the level of play of everyone around her, inspiring confidence and aggression in her teammates. The All-Conference selection for Alex Rollis is well deserved."
