Finding Opportunities
OVERVIEW
The
purpose of this site is to serve as a resource in
providing recommended links and other useful information
when you are ready to start your search for:
As you think about what kinds of
opportunities you would like to pursue, keep in mind
both short-term and long-term goals. Consider what your
skills are, what industry you’d like to work in, your
current school schedule, and how far you are willing to
commute. Assessing the answers to these questions can
help you determine whether individual opportunities are
right for you. Like so many things in life, your career
goals will be a mixture of your interests, skills, and
opportunities that present themselves.
Things Seen and Unseen
Keep in mind when you are looking
for jobs and internships, some may be posted on-line,
but many are not. This is why networking is a crucial
part of job-searching. Sometimes job boards can be
helpful, and they may help you figure out what kinds of
opportunities exist, but when you actually want to get
hired, nothing beats networking. You can find Networking
tips under Career Tools.
To help you get started, Career
Development has identified potential jobs and
internships for King's Students. These are posted on
KingLink located under
Links and Job
Postings.
