INTERNSHIP INFORMATION
Working
as an intern for a reputable company in your field of
interest provides an excellent opportunity to build your
resume profile, increase your job skills, gain insight
into an industry and build your network of professional
relationships. In addition, internships always provide
the possibility of leading to permanent employment in
the future.
Types of Internships
There are primarily two types of internships: 1) paid
internship and 2) unpaid internship for credit. The
Office of Career Development serves as a resource in
providing students information about both types of
internship positions that become available.
Internship for Credit -- King’s Academic Policy
The King’s College allows
students with 60 credit hours and cumulative GPA of 2.7
to complete an internship for credit. In exceptional
cases, sophomores with a GPA of 3.3 or above may be
eligible for internship credit with approval of the
Director of Career Services and the Provost’s Office.
To view the full description of King’s policy on
receiving school credit for your internship, please see
academic catalogue below:
Students are eligible to receive academic credit for
internship experiences in their junior and senior years.
Students may obtain their own internships and/or seek
guidance from the Director of Career Services for

than 2.7, students are eligible for internship credit
only if they received a preceding term GPA of 3.3.
Transfer students must complete one semester at TKC and
meet the requirements listed above to be eligible for
internship credit. In exceptional cases, sophomores with
