View debate between Christopher Hitchens and Douglas Wilson

Famed atheist Christopher Hitchens and evangelical pastor Doug Wilson went head to head at a debate hosted by The King’s College, Wednesday, October 29, at noon. The debate took place at the college’s Empire State Building campus.

Hitchens is an atheist and journalist formerly on the political left and now a supporter of the Iraq War. With a silver tongue and best-selling books such as God Is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything, Hitchens is a staple on talk shows and the lecture circuit. He is also a contributing editor at Vanity Fair.

His opponent, Doug Wilson, is an evangelical pastor at Christ Church in Moscow, Idaho. Provost Marvin Olasky calls Wilson “a prolific author, a fine debater.” He’s also the author of Letter from a Christian Citizen.

Hitchens and Wilson have coauthored a book based on an internet dialogue hosted by Christianity Today. The book’s title: Is Christianity Good for the World? That question was the focus of the debate at King’s.
