The King's College launches a new major - Media, Culture and the Arts
 
NEW YORK, December 18, 2008—On December 17, 2008,The King’s College received approval to launch its newest major - Media, Culture and the Arts (MCA).
 
The King’s College remains committed to transforming society by preparing students to help shape and eventually lead strategic public and private institutions including media and the arts.
 
MCA will prepare students for careers as cultural creators, critics, influencers and gatekeepers and complement King’s two current academic programs in Politics, Philosophy and Economics, and Business Management. MCA majors, along with other King’s students, will initially take core courses in writing, history, politics, philosophy, economics, Bible, theology and urban studies. As part of the MCA degree, students will add coursework in media and media-related technologies, principles of cultural interpretation, and world cultures.
 
MCA students will also be able to focus in areas of specific interest such as journalism, creative writing, theatre and art, and can intern at some of the world’s greatest media and cultural arts institutions. Recently, King’s students have interned at Saturday Night Live, the Brooklyn Museum of Art, Madison Square Garden and other leading organizations.
 
The King’s College, New York City, is a Christian college with classrooms and offices in the Empire State Building.
