High School Students Experience The King’s College

NEW YORK, NOVEMBER 24, 2009—The chance to interact with King’s staff, faculty, and students made quite an impression on prospective students attending The King’s College fall visit weekends. The time on campus included dinner in Times Square, a Broadway show, the chance to attend classes, and tours of the school.

Praising the warmth of the student body and staff, the palpable vision of current students, and the excitement of the New York experience, visiting students attested to the value of the Inviso Weekends in their decision making.

“I wasn’t really interested until I visited,” said Alli Walker, a senior from Myerstown, PA. “Then I came here and saw that people actually live the vision statement. There is such passion here.” Walker added that her visit had convinced her to place her deposit with the school that day.

Emily Deemer, a senior from Pittsburgh, PA, agreed that her Inviso experience was helpful. “One of my huge criteria was what the students would be like,” said Deemer. “They have to be friendly and hospitable, and they were.”

“What other school takes you to dinner and a play for free?” asked junior Susanna Deemer, Emily’s sister. She stated that King’s had been her top choice before coming and that visiting was “such a confirmation.”

Inviso derives its name from the Latin term for a brief visit and is designed to introduce high school seniors and juniors to both New York City and The King’s College.

Inviso is open to high school juniors and seniors who meet the minimum requirements of a 3.0 GPA and either an 1100 SAT (Math/Reading) or a 24 ACT. Inviso is free for each student and one parent, and there is a $75 registration fee for each additional guest.

The next Inviso is scheduled for February 5-6, 2010, with three more to follow later in the semester. To register, contact the Visit Coordinator at (212) 659-3610 or register online.
