Darren Blanton Named to Board of Trustees

NEW YORK, June 20, 2011—The King’s College is proud to announce the appointment of Darren Blanton to the Board of Trustees.
|

|
Blanton is the founder and director of Colt Ventures. He has over twenty-two years of investment experience and has invested in over 100 private companies across every stage of corporate finance.
|

|

Prior to forming Colt Ventures, Blanton worked with the family office of Perry E. (Bill) Esping, the founder of First Data Corporation. He also ran Able Investments, a distressed real estate fund, and he started his career as a commercial real estate broker in Dallas, Texas.

Blanton currently serves on the Board of Colt Oil and Gas, Retrophin Biotech, Amorcyte Therapeutics, The SMU Cox School of Business Venture Fund, Esping Family Foundation, and the SM Wright Foundation (a foundation focused on urban renewal in the Fair Park area of Dallas).

Darren’s personal life revolves around his wife and three children as well as ranching, cutting horses, and roping competitions.
