The King's College Occupies Wall St.

NEW YORK, July 23, 2012—In September of 2011, scores of protesters descended on lower Manhattan to “Occupy Wall St.” The message of the protest was clear: end greed, increase wealth redistribution, and stop big business. In the fall of 2012, a new voice will occupy Wall St., and its message will be equally clear: liberty, limited government, and a return to Christian truths regarding politics, philosophy, economics, culture, and business.

The King’s College is pleased to announce the relocation of the College to the corner of Broadway and Exchange Place in Lower Manhattan’s Financial District. The move is designed to facilitate the rapid growth of the College and increase the influence of King’s in New York City and around the world.

Previously used by Occupy protesters, the space will now be used to educate students to think critically about the important connection between liberty and prosperity.

Dinesh D’Souza, President of The King’s College, said "Our intent is to attract a generation of bright, passionate, emerging young leaders from around the world to study and advance the cause of Christ and freedom in the public square."

The new space is located at 52 Broadway (map below) in the heart of Manhattan’s Financial District. Students at the new campus will be next door to the New York Stock Exchange, a block from Trinity Church, and two blocks from Battery Park. Every major subway train stops within two blocks of the new location.

“We are excited to be a part of the re-birth of Lower Manhattan,” said Duanne Moeller, Chief Administrative Officer at King’s, who coordinated the real estate team. “Thousands of people will pass by our new front lobby every day and this will continue to help raise the profile of the College. The increased classroom space and other amenities at the new location will also improve the educational experience for our students.”

The new location carries with it a number of unique benefits not available at the Empire State Building. With a private street level access, the new campus spans multiple floors and measures just over 60,000 square feet. The space boasts 12 classrooms, a 200 seat auditorium, and regular access to another 1,000 seat auditorium.

Most importantly, the new space provides ample room for a rapidly expanding student body. With a projected incoming class of over 300 students, a flexible space is crucial to maintaining the quality of the education.

The ground floor presence will allow King's to advertise itself at street level for the first time, which will raise the profile of the College significantly.
