Henry Morriello Named to Board of Trustees

NEW YORK, May 24, 2012—The King’s College is proud to announce the appointment of Henry G. Morriello to the Board of Trustees.

Morriello is the Chair of the Finance Department and Chair of the Structured Finance Group for the global law firm Kaye Scholer. As Chair of the Finance Department, he is responsible for all aspects of the firm’s finance practice, including structured finance, syndicated and leveraged finance, and various specialty finance practices such as transportation, energy, entertainment and sports finance. He represents clients in U.S. and international term securitization and commercial paper conduits involving residential and commercial mortgage loans, home equity loans, equipment leases, student loans, aircraft loans and leases, auto paper, trade receivables, intellectual property royalties, and esoteric assets.

Dinesh D’Souza, President of The King’s College, said of Morriello, "As an alumnus, as a New Yorker, and as a distinguished lawyer with extensive experience and contacts in the legal and financial world, Henry Morriello is a perfect addition to the King's board"

Recently, Morriello has represented global financial institutions in groundbreaking governmental assistance transactions, and troubled financial asset portfolio sales and liquidations. For example, he represented UBS in its $45 billion governmental assistance transaction with the Swiss National Bank.

Morriello was recognized as a leader for Capital Markets — Securitization in Chambers Global and Chambers USA, where it was noted that he had “risen to the challenges of a tough market” and that “clients praised his breadth of knowledge and attention to detail.” He is described by clients as “extremely diligent and great at breaking down an issue into a digestible number of bite-sized chunks.”

An alumnus of the College, Morriello graduated magna cum laude from The King’s College, Briarcliff, in 1976. After receiving his B.A. at King’s, Morriello graduated with a J.D. from St. John’s Unviersity School of Law. Today, he is a frequent lecturer at conferences across the country and abroad on topics that include asset/mortgage securitization, structured product workouts and restructurings, transportation finance, real estate finance, and alternative investments.

“It is a great honor for me to join the Board of Trustees of The King’s College,” Morriello said. “I believe that this is God’s appointed time for me to serve in this capacity, and I look forward to working with Chairman Mills, President D’Souza, the rest of the Board, and the entire King’s family to make a dynamic impact on the world for the Lord through high-quality, Christ-centered college education.”

Andy Mills, Chairman of the Board, is also excited to have Morriello as a trustee. "We are delighted to have Henry join the Board,” he remarked. “As a very distinguished lawyer in New York City, he brings a deep knowledge of the legal and financial worlds and a love of the city. But more than that, Henry is an alumnus of The King's College and was instrumental in bringing the College out of bankruptcy in 1999 and setting it on its new path. In joining the Board, Henry will continue to help guide and care for the College as it moves through an unprecedented period of growth."
