The 74th Annual Homecoming!

On the last weekend of September, dozens of alumni traveled to lower Manhattan for the 74th Annual Homecoming celebrations. During the weekend, alumni reconnected, met current King’s students, and held their annual alumni meeting.

Alumni attending Homecoming represented a significant cross-section of history at The King’s College. Some alum traveled from across the country to attend. Others, having attended King’s while it was located at Briarcliff Manor or Essex, NJ, traveled to King’s to see the new campus.

While at King’s, alumni caught up with each other over pancake breakfast on Saturday morning, and then took campus tours. In the early afternoon, alumni heard lectures from Dr. Joseph Loconte, Dr. Andrew Johnson, and Professor Brian Brenberg on topics ranging from a history of faith in the west to Economics 101.

Afterwards, the alumni held their annual alumni committee meeting, and then headed to a local restaurant to hear from President D’Souza, Brian Parker, and members of the alumni executive team.

The major event of Homecoming was the traditional Students vs. Alumni soccer game, held on Roosevelt Island. The game pits current students against the graduated alumni of the College. Though the alumni have dominated the game in the past ten years, the student team pulled ahead to beat the alumni 3-2.

The King’s College educates students in the ideas upon which nations rise and fall. With a focused curriculum in the liberal arts tradition, students are prepared to help shape, and eventually to lead, the institutions of government, civil society, media, law, business, education, the arts, and the church. King’s is a Christian college located in New York City.
