New York— Joe T. Ford, Chairman of ALLTEL Corporation, recently endowed the Joe T. Ford Excellence in Business Award at The King's College. Ford’s strategic leadership at ALLTEL coupled with numerous contributions to the economic development of Arkansas and selfless public service as a State Senator serve as a shining example for business leaders of tomorrow.
Elizabeth Schroeder Lindow was announced as the inaugural recipient at the 2007 Commencement ceremonies. Lindow, of Carrollton, Texas graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management.
The Joe T. Ford Award will be given annually to a graduating senior who demonstrates excellence in the business disciplines taught at The King's College and has modeled intelligence, integrity, humility, truth and grace under pressure.
The award recipient must also exhibit leadership and courage while organizing others and sacrificing personally when necessary. He or she must be a people-builder, a role model and someone who invests in the lives of others.
