The King’s College announces its Headmaster Gathering with keynote speaker Dr. Frederick Hess
 
NEW YORK—The King’s College is pleased to announce its second annual Headmaster Gathering on November 1-4, 2007. The conference brings together a number of Christian secondary school headmasters and board members from around the country. The focus of the four day event is entrepreneurship in education.
 
The keynote speaker, Dr. Fredrick Hess, will lecture on, “The State of Education in America,” on November 2 at 7:30 p.m. at the Elebash Recital Hall, 365 fifth Ave.
 
A former high school social studies teacher, Hess also taught education and politics at the University of Virginia. He is a faculty associate at the Harvard University Program on Education Policy and Governance, and serves on the review board for the Broad Prize in Urban Education.
 
Hess also works on a diverse range of K-12 and higher education issues including accountability, charter schooling and school choice, and entrepreneurship in his current role with the American Enterprise Institute.
 
An accomplished author, Hess’s books include: No Remedy Left Behind, Footing the Tuition Bill, and Educational Entrepreneurship.
 
Other speakers for the event include Dr. Jeffrey Robinson of NYU’s Stern School of Business, Dr. David Levin, co-founder of KIPP Schools (Knowledge is Power Program), Michael Connelly, CEO, Mosaica Education, Inc., Dr. Marvin Olasky, Provost, The King’s College, and Dr. Alex Tokarev, Assistant Professor of Economics, The King’s College.
