King’s hires Anne Hendershott to teach new core course

NEW YORK—The King’s College is proud to announce the hiring of Anne Hendershott, who will join the faculty as Professor of Urban Affairs in the fall of 2008.

Hendershott received her B.A. and M.S. degrees from Central Connecticut State University and her Ph.D. in Sociology from Kent State University.

For the past 15 years, Hendershott has been Director of the Urban Studies Program and Professor of Sociology at the University of San Diego, and is the author of four books: Moving for Work, The Reluctant Caregivers, The Politics of Deviance, and The Politics of Abortion. She has also been published in numerous journals and presented papers at conferences across the country.

Provost Marvin Olasky said, “Anne’s wisdom and compassion make her the perfect person to teach our new core course, Introduction to the City.”

The King’s College is a Christian liberal arts college located in the Empire State Building in New York City.
