LETTER FROM THE PARENT'S
LEADERSHIP COUNCIL
Every day is an exciting
day in the life of The King's
College. Your kids know that and
we experience it as well as part
of the Parent's Leadership
Council. It's encouraging to see
what's happening at King’s and
this winter has been no
exception.
Stan's return as president is a
blessing that we praise God for,
and no doubt it is an answer to
the prayers of many of you.
Brett Schundler joining King's
as COO is also a blessing that
we think will produce great
things for the college. Brett’s
passion for making a difference
in the public square will spread
throughout the school. We are
also thankful for Marvin Olasky
as he continues to lead the
faculty, mold the curriculum,
and ensure that our students are
given a great experience while
at King’s.
So where does the PLC fit in to
all this? Additionally, some of
you may be asking, “Who makes up
the PLC?” Let me explain.
First we are parents just like
you. Some of us are parents of
recent alums (still committed to
the work of TKC) and most are
parents of current students. We
believe in what King's is about,
and we believe we have
identified five focus areas that
we can make a difference in:
prayer, communications,
recruitment, placement, and
financial development. We have
divided up into teams with a
leader over each area (see list
below) and we're committed to
working with the King's team to
support their
goals—strengthening the
institution to the glory of THE
King.
We're recently added three
couples to the PLC (doubling our
leadership team) and we have
added some exciting energy and
insight. We'd love to hear from
you regarding any suggestions
you may have, how we can best
serve you, and if you are
interested in coming along side
the school and working on a
focus area with us. Some of the
things we are hoping to
accomplish include: hosting
receptions in the homes of
King's families around the
country so that interested high
school seniors and juniors can
learn about King’s; leveraging
our contacts for internships and
jobs; and most of all praying
every day for King's faculty,
staff, and students. Join us by
emailing the PLC member that
represents your interest.
Finally, we want you to know
that we’re already planning for
this fall's New Student
Orientation and Parent's
Weekend. If you have any
questions or suggestions
regarding these events, or
anything else, please let us
know. It is a pleasure serving
you.
Blessings in Christ,
Susan and Cary Humphries,
Chairpersons for the PLC
