Update from the Parents’ Leadership Council

Greetings to the parents of students at The King’s College!

As the students are well into the start of the 2009 fall semester, every one of us as parents can rejoice in God’s goodness in providing such an amazing school for our children. Those of us on the Parents Leadership Council (PLC) want you to know that we consider it a privilege to serve you parents and the college in whatever ways we can.

It was such a joy for us to meet many of the incoming families at the New Student Orientation last month. There was much excitement (and movement!) as the new students were ushered into their new surroundings, and parents met each other and heard from the staff.

Following is an update on some of our areas of focus for the year:

--------------------------------------------------------------------

PRAYER: A Powerful Privilege
What a blessing that 121 Prayer Partners are committed to faithfully pray for The King’s College, the students and staff this year. To check the monthly prayer requests, click here and to pray for the student or staff of the day, click here for the prayer calendar.

COMMUNICATION: Stay in Touch!
The Parents Press is one way The King’s College staff and PLC keep parents updated on a monthly basis. Besides that, we also have a Yahoo Group set up where you can ask questions at any time and get answers and encouragement from other parents or staff. If you haven’t been added to the group yet, please contact Mark Hundscheid at hundscheidm@gmail.com.

RECRUITMENT: Bring More Friends
The education and vision at The King’s College to produce leaders who want to influence our culture for Christ is too phenomenal to keep a secret! The PLC will be emailing you soon with great ideas on how we can all help to encourage outstanding students to attend The King’s College.

PLACEMENT: Open Doors for Success
Blink, and your child’s four years of college will be over. In ANY economy, how can we help our students to be placed in jobs with great companies to start off their careers? The PLC is working with the Advancement team at TKC to seek out organizations across the country where a student can obtain a summer internship in their Sophomore or Junior year, or be placed in a job after graduation. If your company is interested or has opportunities for the “best and the brightest,” please contact Cary Humphries at japanhumps@hotmail.com as soon as possible!

--------------------------------------------------------------------

We are SO looking forward to seeing many of you at Parents Weekend this month! Don’t forget to register if you haven’t already.

Always feel free to contact us and let us know what’s on your mind!

In His Great Love,

Susan and Cary Humphries
