Is my student required to have health insurance?
Yes, The King’s College requires all full-time students enrolled in class on campus to show proof of health insurance. Students are required to list a provider name and policy number on the Emergency Contact Information form, which is available on the Student Portal.

If students do not have health insurance through a parent or guardian, King’s offers a student health insurance plan administered and underwritten by the American College Student Association (ACSA) of United Health Care.

If a student has been enrolled under his/her parents' policy, he/she should check to see if coverage still applies. Group health plans often do not cover full-time student dependents once they have reached a specific age, or when they are married. In addition, students who have declared financial independence for financial aid may not be covered. We also urge students who are covered by an HMO, PPO or similar plan to determine the extent of coverage available.

Click here to view more information about health insurance requirements at King’s and to learn more about the ASCA plan offered through United Health Care.

Where will my student purchase books for class?
The King’s College partners with textbookx.com for the listing of books. Click here to see instructions for purchasing books through textbookx.com.

Do you provide opportunities for students to participate in service and missions?
At The King’s College, we take the Great Commission seriously. We provide dynamic opportunities for students to engage New York City and other countries. Each summer, students and faculty travel to the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Asia to interact with prominent leaders and build bridges with top university students. Students learn how to communicate their faith in cross-cultural contexts and grapple with issues shaping foreign nations.

Through our City Engagement initiatives, students can serve with organizations that are touching the lives of thousands of New Yorkers. Whether feeding the homeless or mentoring underprivileged youth, students have many opportunities to make a difference.
