Parent Association - PAWe view parents as partners. One way we partner
with parents is through the Parents Association. The purpose of the PA is to
provide opportunities for parents to connect with the College and one
another in order to maximize their family’s college experience. King’s keeps
parents in the PA informed and we invite you to play a role in your
student’s education. Below, we’ve listed just a few of the benefits of being
a part of the PA.
COMMUNICATION: Parents Press, a monthly
newsletter written just for parents, keeps you connected to the life of the
College. Update your contact information and e-mail address
here to ensure you receive our next issue!
Using the link above, parents may also sign up
here to receive the TKC Weekly, a weekly publication featuring student events and
announcements.
As a part of our communication strategy,
parents are also automatically informed in the event of an emergency via our
Emergency Notification System. We use the contact information provided in
the admission process and from the form linked above.
ENCOURAGEMENT: The Director of the PA and members of the Parents Leadership Council (PLC),
send quarterly newsletters to encourage parents as you walk through the
King’s experience with your student.
PLC members are also present at New Student
Orientation and Parent and Family Weekend and hope to encourage you as you
transition to being a parent of a King’s student.
GIVING: If you desire to contribute your
time, influence, or other resources to the College, fill out a form
here. A member of the PLC will contact you to follow
up.
MERCHANDISE: As members of the PA, each
family will receive two complimentary King’s coffee mugs at New Student
Orientation.
A 10% discount to the King’s Store, to be used
for on campus purchases, will be available to parents at the start of the
semester. King’s gear will be available to purchase at New Student
Orientation and Parent and Family Weekend. Click
here to see our current King’s
gear items.
PARENT AND FAMILY WEEKEND: We invite you
to attend Parent and Family Weekend 2012 on September 28-30. This weekend
will help you become better acquainted with King’s, allow you to spend time
with your student, and also give you the opportunity to join in the
Homecoming 2012 festivities. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet fellow
PA members, as well as faculty, staff and members of the PLC. Click
here to register for Parent and Family
Weekend.
PRAYER: The PLC organizes a coalition of
parents who pray for the College through the
TKC Prayer Calendar. Parents
volunteer to pray on a specific day each month for assigned faculty, staff,
and/or students. To partner with us in prayer, you can sign up at the
Information Fair during New Student Orientation or contact Lori Covington,
covington@tkc.edu.
We also invite you to pray for the College’s
current needs by checking the Prayer Requests
for Parents page, updated monthly with prayer requests for King’s.
VOLUNTEERING: The PLC invites you to
volunteer your time and energy to help recruit future Kingsians. If you’d
like more information about some of the potential opportunities to serve
King’s in your hometown, click here.
Parents are a valuable part of the King’s Community and we appreciate
your support and investment in the lives of your students. We encourage you
to browse the King’s site, particularly the pages related to parents, to
learn more about our parent programs and ways to get involved.

Covington at pa@tkc.edu.
We look forward to meeting many of you at Parent and Family Weekend!
