After King's
Message from the Director
 |
We all have dreams. But in
order to make dreams come into
reality, it takes an awful lot
of determination, dedication,
self-discipline, and effort.
- Jesse Owens (1913-1980)
Every time I enter The King’s
College main campus, also known
as the Empire State Building, I
have an extremely tangible
reminder that great things do
not happen overnight. Yes, this
102-story Art Deco skyscraper
daily receives admiration from
its many global visitors. More
importantly, it remains a silent
yet powerful testimony to the
255 carpenters, 290 bricklayers,
384 brick laborers, 107 derrick
men, 285 steel men, 249 elevator
installers, 105 electricians,
192 plumbers, 194 heating and
ventilating workers, and others
who together translated a dream
into reality. In brief,
greatness takes work. |

Like the Empire State
Building, Career Services aims
to equip The King’s students
with the foundational tools
necessary to withstand our
modern marketplace. We offer our
students support to discover
their vocation and to develop a
strategic career path towards
realizing their dreams. Lastly,
we reinforce our firm belief
that anything worth doing is
worth doing well.
Craftsmanship does require
more thought, time, and effort.
In a society that glorifies
velocity, craftsmanship may seem
both an antiquated and
unattractive approach towards
success. Then again, it depends
on what the desired outcomes
are. We at King’s have definite
evidence that determination,
dedication, self-discipline, and
effort – yes, craftsmanship –
lasts.
