Checking Out of
Housing at the End of a Semester
To ensure a smooth transition and avoid fees, there are several important
details to keep in mind when you check out of The King’s College Housing. Your
Chamberlain will begin communicating with you about check-out procedures one
month prior to the end of the semester. In addition, a comprehensive Check-Out
Guide will be posted here three weeks before move-out.
Checking Out of Housing Mid-Semester
If you plan to leave The King’s College Housing mid-semester, you will need
to email housing@tkc.edu and carbon copy
your Chamberlain to request information about check-out procedures. You will
likely need to fill out a housing exit survey and schedule a check-out
appointment with your Chamberlain, who will review the condition and cleanliness
of your room and collect your keys. Since improper check-outs can result in
additional fees, it is to your advantage to communicate with Residence Life as
soon as your plans to leave housing are known.
When leaving King’s mid-semester, you should also contact
Student Services and the
Registrar to ensure that you have all of
the information you need to plan a smooth transition.
Requesting Your Security Deposit Refund
After you move out of The King’s College Housing, you must submit a
Security Deposit Refund
Request in order to receive a check for your security deposit. You can expect
to receive your refund check, less any housing damages or remaining account
balances, within two months of your move-out date.
