Overnight Guest Requests

The following procedures and rules must be followed in order to host an overnight guest, unless granted special approval by the Director of Residence Life or that office’s designated party.

  1. Only same sex guests are allowed to stay.
  2. Only two overnight guests per room are allowed at one time.
  3. Overnight guests may not stay in any room more than three (3) nights consecutively.
  4. Before committing to host a guest, each roommate must give their assent in writing on the “Overnight Guest Consent Form.” Arrangements and forms should be completed with roommates and your Chamberlain at least 24 hours in advance. To minimize complications, it is recommended that students make arrangements 48-72 hours in advance.
  5. No guest may spend more than six nights cumulative per semester in student housing.
  6. Students may not allow guests to use their room if they are not present.
  7. Residents are responsible for the actions of their guests and must ensure the guest’s compliance with building and college regulations. They must also show proper concern for the rights of roommates.
  8. Inappropriate behavior on the part of the host or guest may result in disciplinary action such as revocation of guest and visitor privileges.
