What
kind of computer should I bring to King's? |
|

All students are required to bring a laptop to King's. Learn
more about the different devices you can bring on campus from
this guide. |

What
software does King's expect me to use? |
|
|
King's uses uses Microsoft Office. Students are advised to use
Microsoft Office (at least 2007) and may purchase Office 2013 for
PC and Office 2011 for Mac through Microsoft directly via
http://microsoftstore.com. |

What kind
of Internet access will I have? |
|
|
On campus, King's provides a wireless network for all students,
and every student residence building has wireless Internet access
through a separate network. |
|
|
|
|
When do I
find out my email address? |
|
|
You should receive an email from the College around mid-summer. If
you have questions, contact us. |
|
|
|
|
Can I
check my email from anywhere? |
|
|
Yes. You can always check your King's email through
Gmail by logging in with
your username (for new students - firstname.lastname@tkc.edu) and
the password sent to your personal email address. If you have
Outlook for PC installed on your laptop, you can set up Outlook to
interface with your mail using
Google Sync. |

|
Can I check my email from my cell phone? |

Most cell phones will connect easily with
Gmail using the information
here.
If you experience problems, you should manually set the phone's
incoming mail server as pop.gmail.com and the outgoing mail server
as smtp.gmail.com.

We provide wireless Internet access, a Computer Lab (located in
the Library), and printers for student use in the Library. |

Who do I
contact if my access card does not work? |
|
|
If you are having trouble with your access card, please stop by
Student Services for help. They will assist in contacting our
Facilities team to have your card access fixed. |
