What
specifications do I have to have on my laptop for King's? |
All
students are required to bring a laptop to King's. Although
King's is a Windows environment, MACS will work on the network.
The college does not support MACS but will help in getting them
connected to the network.
the specifications for your laptop. |

What kind
of Internet access will I have? |
On
campus, King's provides a wireless network for all students.
For more information on the wireless network, check the
information below. In the dorm rooms, King's provides Internet
access with Time Warner. This should be ready for you when
you move into your apartment. There is also a computer lab
on the Lower Lobby which you can use while on campus. |

When do I
find out my email address? |
If you
are a new student, you will receive your King's email address at the
New Student Orientation. Your King's email address is your
official email address for college communication. Please be
sure to check your email often so you don't miss any important
information. |
Can I
check my email from anywhere? |
Yes. You can always check your
King's email through our web mail. To access web mail, go to
owa.tkc.edu. |
What is
my username? |
Your
username is used for your college email address and to access
the college network. Most
usernames are the first initial of your first name followed
by your last name and then @tkc.edu. For example, if your
name is Polly Jones, your username is probably pjones@tkc.edu.
Since usernames must be unique, your username might not follow the
rules if that username already exists on our network. If you have forgotten your username, contact the IT
department by calling x7154 or email. |
What is
my password? |
The first
time you log onto our network, your password is Kings2007.
You will be asked to change your password. Please
remember that your password must be at least 8 characters long, must
contain one capital letter and at least one number. If you
have forgotten your password, the IT department can re-set it for
you. For security reasons, you will be asked to change
your password every 90 days. |

disk drive on our network named the S: drive. If you go to

pictures of events, software, and other information of interest to
students. |

Any
student using our network must have anti-virus software installed
on their laptop. We provide that software for you.
You can find a folder on your S: drive where that software
