Counseling
The Kings College
acknowledges that life’s demands
sometimes stretch us beyond our
limits. We all feel sad,
uncertain or hurt at various
times in our lives. The college
years are often difficult to
navigate on our own. To ensure
that you have the support you
need, we offer the following
resources:
1.
Redeemer Counseling Services
Because of our New York City
location, we have access to
first-rate counseling services.
Redeemer has professionally
trained Christian counselors who
provide specialized care for a
host of issues, as well as
conduct various seminars. As a
King's student, you are able to
take advantage of these services
for $40.00 per session (1/3 of
the typical hourly rate).
To set up an appointment, you
can do one of the following:
- Go online to
www.redeemer.com/care/counseling
and click on the “getting
started” link. Specify that
you are a King’s College
Student to ensure that you
receive the discounted rate.
A counselor will follow up
with you directly to set up
an appointment.
- Stop by Student
Services to pick up a
counseling request form.
After filling it out, turn
it in to Student Services or
any Student Development
Staff, and they will submit
your request to Redeemer. A
counselor will follow up
with you to set up an
appointment.
Redeemer Counseling Services
are located within walking
distance from the College:
1359 Broadway (between 36th
and 37th St.)
New York, NY 10118

Counseling Services available at

2. Student Development
Coaching
If you need to talk to
someone, but do not wish to
pursue counseling at this time,
we encourage you to set up a
meeting with a Student
Development Staff member.
Depression, eating disorders,
anxiety, family issues,
grief/loss, sexuality, past
experiences, spiritual doubts,
adjustment to college, self
injury, pornography, and
gambling are all issues that may
eventually need professional
counseling, but can be initially
addressed by Student Development
Staff. Do not allow guilt or
shame to rob you of joy. We are
eager to listen and to provide
suggestions for growth and
healing.
To set up an appointment, you
can do one of the following:
- Go to the following link
and submit a
coaching request form. You
may request a specific staff
member, though it is not
necessary to do so. Someone
will get back to you within 2
days of your request to set up
an appointment.
- Stop by Student Services
to fill out a coaching request
form. After you turn it in, a
staff member will follow up
with you to set up an
appointment.
- If you know a Student
Development Staff, you can
speak to them about setting up
an appointment.
