Welcome to The King’s College Office of Admissions blog! We’re so glad you’re here. Our team has over 20 years of collective experience in Higher Education and has helped hundreds of families navigate the college admissions process.

In this blog, you’ll find pro-tips from Admissions and other Higher Education professionals on ways you can strengthen your application to colleges. You’ll find definitions of terms you may be reading about–like “test-optional,” “Early Action,” and “merit-based aid.” You’ll read financial aid advice and ways to navigate funding your education. We hope that as we share stories from our journeys you’ll learn how to apply to college like a pro (in our humble opinions). We’ll be sharing the blog posts via email and on social media with special ways to engage with our team members if you have any follow-up questions to the topics we’re writing about. Make sure to follow @tkcadmissions on Instagram for more pro-tips and ways to connect.

This space isn’t only for one type of student. We serve transfer students, international students, military families, juniors (and younger), parents, Guidance Counselors, and more. This is one of the biggest decisions you or the student you’re helping will make–please know that we’re here every step of the way.

This brings me to our first Admissions pro-tip: be yourself and share your story.

Over the past six years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with some amazing students and I love hearing what matters most to them. Pursue clubs, activities, and hobbies that you’re interested in or a new area you’re curious about (instead of just doing it for the sake of a college application). It will set you up for personal growth and leadership opportunities in that area. Genuine curiosity and growth shine through on college applications and in entrance interviews.

So share your story; be authentic and brave in your responses. You’ll do great!

We’re here to serve and happy to help.
