The Cano Blanco Scholarship

The Cano Blanco Scholarship will be awarded to one student of Hispanic heritage who matriculates in Fall 2022.

Purpose

The intent of the Cano Blanco Scholarship is not only to provide financial support for students’ four-year college career at The King’s College, but also to encourage students academically and spiritually. The Cano Blanco Scholarship at The King’s College seeks to equip students to seek Truth, understand the enduring questions of history within a Christian framework, and prepare to shape their corner of the world for good and for the glory of God.

Award Details

The Cano Blanco Scholarship will cover tuition and fees, on-campus housing expenses, subway transportation, a meal stipend, and necessary textbooks for each year that the student attends The King’s College, for up to four years. The scholarship is renewable annually if the student maintains a 3.25 cumulative GPA and remains in good standing with the College. Should the student’s GPA fall below 3.25, the student will have one semester to raise his or her GPA.

Eligibility

The King’s College will award the Cano Blanco Scholarship to one student who matriculates in Fall 2022. To qualify for this scholarship, the student must:

  • Be of Hispanic heritage. Priority shall be given to those of Costa Rican descent.
  • Meet the academic preparedness standards set by Admissions regarding high school GPA, test scores, and/or writing sample.
  • Compete in the Founders scholarship competition.
  • Have financial need as determined by the FAFSA wherein the student’s Expected Family Contribution is $20,000 or lower.
