House of Winston Churchill
“Never give in--never, never, never, never, in nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in except to convictions of honor and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.”
The House of Winston Churchill is a band of brothers who strive to be virtuous statesmen dedicated to serving God and others.
Brotherhood. Courage. Servanthood. Excellence.
The House of Churchill is a band of brothers, who strive to be virtuous statesmen, dedicated to serving God and others. Its members value brotherhood, courage, servanthood and excellence.
The House of Sir Winston Churchill strives to fulfill its mission through brotherhood in membership; this is also accomplished through special events that nurture the spiritual, academic, and social lives of students both inside and outside of the House. The men of our House live life alongside one another, growing, challenging, and learning lessons that can only happen in community. As we sharpen those around us and link arms together, we grow more than we could on our own. Our men cherish this brotherhood and know that many years from now, boys will still be becoming men through learning how to tie bowties, competing together, and studying the masculine journey alongside our Churchillian brothers. We have nothing to offer but our “blood, toil, tears, and sweat.”

“I have learned so much about what it means to be a man of God in my two years in Churchill, and I want to pass on my experience and wisdom…I have a great burden on my heart to see the men of Churchill become the men God created them to be.” Seth Parks, Chamberlain ’14
“When the end of next year comes to a close, the freshman may say, "After entering the House of Winston Churchill I have realized what it means to say as Paul has said, "When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put my childish ways behind me." Brothers, I think we are being used in the process of forming men.” Jonathan Craig, Helmsman ’15
“The excellence in the upperclassmen and the growth I’ve seen and experienced, as one of the freshmen is something that no other environment in my life has come close to touching.” Jesse Inman, Sophomore ’15
The House Crest of Winston Churchill
The House of Winston Churchill crest exhibits our loyalty to The King’s College, the House of Churchill and, most importantly, our Heavenly Father.
The Four Cardinal Virtues are depicted on the crest. Prudence is symbolized by the Bible, justice by the silhouette of our namesake, temperance by the cigar in his mouth, and fortitude by the lion.
The triad of crosses reminds us of the great sacrifice our Lord Jesus made for all mankind and of our devotion to him.
The triquetras (the gray triangular symbols behind the crosses and bust), represent the three Theological Virtues: faith, hope and love.
The Latin phrase “Conventus Fratrum” translates to “Union of Brothers.” We are brothers in the House of Churchill, The Kings College and, most significantly, under Christ.
