Home Academics Faculty Barry Marshall

Barry Marshall has worked with organizations in global operations, risk management, data and analytic modeling, strategy, facilities and project management; and has focused exclusively on the People function since in 2011. He has built and managed teams across North America, South America, Europe and Asia supporting organizations from seed stage founders to the Fortune 100.

Barry most recently led the People function for a FinTech startup. In this role he led a variety of strategic projects including the codification of culture and values, employee engagement, compensation planning, growth, restructuring and technology platform transitions supporting the People function. Prior to that he pioneered the People function at an AdTech company strategically leading their platform transitions, domestic and international growth.

Previously, Barry held a variety of senior roles at JPMorgan in both Human Resources and Operations. As an Executive Director, he created and managed a Human Resources Operations team across North and South America, remediated audit issues and brought global oversight and best practices to the 11 countries across the region. In the role of Chief Operations Officer, Barry, pioneered and led the Philippines Global Operations center scaling it to over 9,000 employees in less than 5 years.

Barry has an MBA from both London Business School and Columbia Business School. He received a B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Human Resources from Arizona State University. Barry is a Six Sigma Black Belt and certified Purpose coach. He also serves on an HR advisory board for One Acre Fund.

He is a marathoner, avid traveler, and the father of three grown children.
