Daniel A. Siedell is an art historian, art critic, and curator who has spent nearly twenty years writing and lecturing on modern art and theology. From 1996-2007 he was Chief Curator of the Sheldon Museum of Art, where he organized numerous exhibitions of modern & contemporary art. From 2007-2011 he was Professor of Modern & Contemporary Art History & Theory at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. He also served as director of the Miami-based studio of Enrique Martínez Celaya (2011-12).

More recently he was Scholar in Residence at the New City Arts Initiative in Charlottesville, Virginia and curator of LIBERATE, the resource ministry of Tullian Tchividjian & Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Fort Lauderdale. Siedell is the author of Weldon Kees and the Arts at Midcentury (University of Nebraska Press, 2003); Martínez Celaya: Early Work (Whale & Star, 2006); God in the Gallery: A Christian Embrace of Modern Art (Baker Academic, 2008), among other books, exhibitions catalogues, and journal essays. Dan lives in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with my wife, Kerri, and three children, Daniel, 20, Morgan, 17, who will attend The King's College in the fall of 2014, and Jacob, 14.
