Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Head Coach
Tenure at King's: 2014 to Present
Barton County Community College
As The King's College Running Club makes the full transition to The King's College Cross Country Team, they will have a new coach to guide them in the right direction and hopefully get them off to a solid start as a varsity program. Jeremy Hardy has been hired to coach the team for the Fall of 2014. Hardy of Auburn, AL attended Auburn University where he was on a full athletic scholarship for track and field. His D1 All-American 4x100 relay team ran a 38.53 in the semifinals of the 2012 NCAA Championships, the top time recorded. This mark is also the second- fastest time in Auburn history. His relay team also won the 2012 Penn Relays in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 39.34 seconds.
Prior to Auburn University, he attended Barton County Community College where he placed 5th at the 2011 JUCO Indoor Nationals in the 100M dash. He also placed 2nd at the 2011 JUCO Region 6 Conference. He has a personal record of 10.08 seconds in the 100 meters (outdoor). Coach Hardy also trains the Oak Knoll High School (NJ) track and field team, last spring their 4x100 team took first place and set meet records at both the NJ State Sectional Championships and the NJ State Group Championships. The school record for both the 100M dash and the 4x100 relay were shattered under his guidance. Coach Hardy is currently training for an opportunity to represent the United States in the 2016 Olympics in Brazil on the 7v7 Rugby team, a sport which will make its first appearance in the Olympics. Whether it be track and field, rugby or cross country, Coach Hardy stresses not only the importance of physical training, but also keeping a positive attitude, staying mentally focused and maintaining healthy nutritional habits.
