The King's College

October 26-27, 2018

Dear alumni,

Surveying the history of the College, it’s evident that King’s alumni are pioneers. You hold seven different campuses in your memories—Bloomfield and Essex Fells; Belmar, New Castle, and Briarcliff Manor; the Empire State Building and our new home in lower Manhattan—yet each of you, as one family, seek to use your minds and gifts to portray the glory of Christ. You are willing to follow the King of Kings even to places where your faith makes you outsiders.

Homecoming is the one time each year when we can meet face to face across generational lines. Many of you, I know, stay in touch with classmates and read updates from the College on social media and in our newsletters. Homecoming, however, is unique. It’s a chance to celebrate together the richness of God’s grace in fulfilling his purposes through the College. Members of the class of 2008 are already looking to plan their ten-year reunion, and we would love to help facilitate class reunions for those who graduated in years ending in 3 or 8. If you are interested in serving as a reunion host, please email Chris Ross, president of the Alumni Association, at

I would like to offer my warmest invitation to each of you to join me and my wife Nancy at this year’s Homecoming Weekend. On Friday, October 26, we’ll gather in the O’Keeffe Student Union for a Welcome Reception over heavy appetizers and beverages. I’ll be there, along with members of the faculty and other alumni.

On the next day, Saturday, October 27, we’ll board a yacht in Manhattan to enjoy the City’s skyline from the Hudson River. At lunch, you’ll be seated at tables by campus and graduation year, and you’ll hear about the marvelous work God is doing at King’s. We’ll confer awards on outstanding King’s alumni, vote on officers and representatives in the Alumni Association, and spend time fellowshipping together. You can get a sense of last year’s award festivities, hear some classmates’ favorite memories from King’s, and see a few photos below from last year’s excursion.

I would love to see you during Homecoming and hear what God has been doing in your life. This year marks the 80th anniversary of the founding of The King’s College, and Homecoming will be a family reunion where all are welcome. Early bird tickets go on sale July 30. Look for an email to register.

Thank you for being a part of God’s work, and being part of our family.

In Service,

Tim Gibson
