The King's College

Homecoming

Invitation

Dear Alumni,

“Like cold water to a weary soul is good news from a far country.” I witness this proverb in action every time I talk to friends and supporters about the work of The King’s College in New York City and its alumni around the country. Our recent Emblem magazine showed just the tiniest and most recent sliver of why alumni are the pride and joy of The King’s College and the backbone of our community. Your prayers and support encourage faculty and staff while your example inspires current students. While we love keeping in touch via newsletters and social media throughout the year, there is nothing like gathering face to face.

So, please save the dates this fall in New York City for Homecoming Weekend. On Friday, October 27, we’ll gather in the O’Keeffe Student Union for a Welcome Reception. The New York City campus alumni are hosting a get-together over heavy appetizers and beverages. I’ll be there, along with members of the faculty and other alumni.

On the next day, Saturday, October 28, we’ll board a yacht at Pier 81 on West 41st Street in Manhattan for an afternoon excursion. Over lunch—during which you’ll be seated at tables by campus and graduation year—I’ll speak about the exciting work that God is doing at King’s. We’ll honor select classes and confer awards on outstanding King’s alumni. We’ll also hear from the Alumni Association and spend time fellowshipping on the Hudson River. Get a sense of last year’s award festivities, hear your classmates’ favorite memories from King’s, and see a few photos below from last year’s excursion.

I’d love to see you during Homecoming and hear from you about what God is doing in our broader King’s community. In particular, if you have never been back to King’s since Briarcliff Manor closed, since Lexington Mansion was razed, since Northeastern Bible College generously gave its assets to help reopen King’s, or even since you graduated in the early years in New York City, Kimberly and I most warmly invite you to “see through a glass darkly” no more—to come, see, know, and be known. Early bird tickets go on sale June 26. Look for an email to register.

Thank you for being a part of God’s work, and being part of our family.

All Joy and Courage,

Gregory Alan Thornbury, PhD.
President
