King's Ranked as Top Conservative College
Young America's Foundation Releases Top Rankings
NEW YORK, March 26, 2012—The Young America’s Foundation (YAF) released their list of the top 15 conservative colleges last week. YAF took note of King’s tremendous growth in past years and in the future—this fall King’s expects more than 300 new students on campus. King’s was also noted for its urban campus and having “the campus art gallery to be the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the performing arts center to be Broadway, the library to be the New York Public Library, and the quad to be Central Park." CBS Money Watch also picked up on the story and made note of King’s unique House System.
King’s commitment to “contrasting ideas based on eternal truths with trendy ideas” and its core curriculum in Politics, Philosophy and Economics are central to its listing as a top college. Every student spends two years immersed in the core during their undergraduate studies. This common core, along with teaching from professors who actively participate in the public square, prepares students for internships and for careers leading strategic institutions.
YAF is a foundation committed to ensuring that young Americans understand and are inspired by the ideas of individual freedom, a strong national defense, free enterprise, and traditional values. The group holds hundreds of lectures, conferences and other opportunities for young Americans to learn how to influence their campuses and country with conservative principles. YAF saved President Ronald Reagan’s “Western White House” in 1998 and now uses the ranch as a center to accomplish its mission.
The King’s College educates students in the ideas upon which nations rise and fall. With a focused curriculum in the liberal arts tradition, students are prepared to help shape, and eventually to lead, the institutions of government, civil society, media, law, business, education, the arts, and the church. King’s is a Christian college located in the Empire State Building in New York City.
