The King’s College Honors Coreen Cook
Coreen Cook, the beloved wife of Dr. Robert A. Cook, went home to be with the Lord this past Tuesday at the age of 99. Dr. Cook was the second president of The King’s College, and from 1962 until 1991, Dr. Cook served The King’s College with Coreen by his side.
Gregory Alan Thornbury Named as Sixth President
The Board of Trustees of The King’s College is pleased to announce the appointment of Gregory Alan Thornbury, Ph.D. as its sixth president. Thornbury, with an academic background in philosophy and Christian ministry, has spent his career in higher education, where he has pursued entrepreneurial roles and maintained a passionate commitment to the arts.

King’s Business Students: Top 2% Nationwide
Each year, top business students from programs around the country take the ETS Major Field Test to find out where they rank amongst their peers. For the second year in a row, students from The King’s College scored in the top 2% nationally.

The French intellectual Alexis de Tocqueville once observed that the tendency for Americans to form associations to solve problems is one of the many characteristics that make America an outstanding republic. In “What Tocqueville Would Tell Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood,” Professor Joseph Loconte argues that the hostility toward the freedom of association showed by Egypt’s ruling authorities is dangerous and counterproductive.
The Peace of a ‘Wise and Free People’
While American politicians are busy fawning over the lofty platitudes on peace and cooperation spoken by Chinese politicians, the Chinese government continues stealing top defensive systems plans from the United States. How should American leaders respond to continued spying by Chinese agents? In “The Peace of a ‘Wise and Free People,’” Professors David Corbin and Matthew Parks recommend looking to the Federalist Papers for insight.
The 2013 Senior Address
On Saturday, May 11th, The King’s College held its annual Commencement exercises to honor the graduation of the class of 2013. The Honorable Allen West, a well decorated war veteran and former U.S. representative from Florida’s 22nd district, delivered the keynote address.
King’s Alumnus to Join Boston Law Firm
Jacqueline Smith, who graduated in 2010 with a degree in Politics, Philosophy, & Economics (PPE) and received her JD from Boston University Law School this year, is now taking a job at an international law firm in Boston, MA.
The Obama Doctrine and the Judgment of History
According to Professor Joseph Loconte, Professor of History at The King’s College, President Obama dangerously misidentifies the source of this violence when he refers only to “violent extremists.”
