First Bitcoin Donation Accepted
On Friday, July 18, The King’s College accepted its first Bitcoin donation.
Last month, The King’s College announced that it would become the first accredited college in the United States to accept Bitcoinfor tuition and donations. On Friday, July 18, The King’s College accepted its first Bitcoin donation.
The donation comes from Edmund Moy, a long-time friend of President Gregory Alan Thornbury, and was submitted late Friday evening. Edmund Moy was the 38th Director of the U.S. Mint. After leaving the United States Mint, Moy became Vice President Corporate Infrastructure for L&L Energy, Inc., and then Chief Strategist for Morgan Gold. Moy also writes for Moneynews.com.
Under the leadership of President Thornbury, The King’s College began to accept Bitcoin through a partnership with Coin.co. Coin.co is a New York-based merchant processor that enables merchants to accept Bitcoin, yet receive US Dollars.
