Sophomore Victoria Li took first place among all female golfers this week at the USCAA National Championships out at Penn State. She shot a 92 and an 88 on Monday and Tuesday for a 180 (+36), seven strokes ahead of Kristy Hanes of Penn State-DuBois. Victoria also took first place in the chipping contest among all male and female golfers. This was the first time TKC has attended this exclusive event and overall it was a success as Li, Gabe Medina, Michael Sheetz and Richard Sanchez all competed under the watchful eye of Coach Tom Palmgren. Coach Palmgren said he felt attending an event like this was something the golf program at TKC could build upon, he also said “our athletes had a great time and learned what it means to play in a truly competitive event.” Next up for the team is the NCCGA Metro Championships in High Point, NJ this weekend.
