Dr. Wayne Frair, Professor Emeritus of Biology at The King’s College, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 29 in Morristown, New Jersey, after suffering a heart attack. Dr. Frair held degrees in zoology, embryology, and serology from Houghton College, Wheaton College, the University of Massachusetts, and Rutgers University. He taught at the Briarcliff campus for many years, where his required courses acquainted him with a large percentage of the student body.

Dr. Frair was beloved for his gentleness and ability to make students laugh. He was born in 1926 and became a Christian during his service in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Beyond the TKC campus, Dr. Frair served as the President of the Creation Research Society from 1986 to 1993, then remained a member of its board of directors for another eleven years. His greatest contribution to the field of creation science was developing baraminology, the study of created kinds. TKC alumni remember Dr. Frair’s expertise with (and devotion to) turtles. The Creation Science Hall of Fame has a list of his prolific publications.

Dr. Frair is survived by his wife Betty, whom he met at The King’s College, where they both worked. Cards and letters may be directed to her at the following address:

Fellowship Village
1114 Fellowship Rd.
Basking Ridge, NJ 07920
