NEW YORK CITY – July 1, 2015 – Beginning in the Fall 2015 semester, Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (TEDS) will begin offering occasional graduate-level courses in theology on the campus of The King’s College in lower Manhattan.

This fall, TEDS will offer ST 6000: Biblical Theology and Epistemology, taught by Dr. Dru Johnson, Assistant Professor of Biblical Studies at King’s. The course employs the methods of biblical theology in order to pursue a systematic treatment of knowledge in the Christian tradition, and counts toward requirements for several master’s degrees, including the Master of Arts in Theological Studies and Master of Divinity.

More information about the course, including syllabus and payment information, is available at Trinity’s website.

“I’m excited to be able to teach graduate-level courses for such an esteemed institution to students from New York, New Jersey, and the surrounding area,” said Johnson. “The topic of the course is at the heart of what pastors and churches wrestle with: how we know confidently according to Scripture and how we lead others to know God, themselves, and reality. We’ll be studying philosophy, Scripture, theology, and then considering its implications for preaching, teaching, counseling, discipleship, and apologetics.”

“We are looking forward to offering Biblical Theology and Epistemology on the campus of The King’s College this fall,” said Richard Grimm, Senior Vice President for University Services at Trinity. “We are grateful to President Thornbury for the invitation to do so, and thankful for the efforts of Emanuel Naydenov, TEDS Director of Extension and Affiliate Education, for his work in leading this effort.”

“Trinity Evangelical Divinity School will count it a joyful privilege to partner with The King’s College in the offering of selective graduate and ministerial preparation courses this fall,” said Dr. David S. Dockery, President of Trinity International University, who serves on the Board of Trustees at King’s. “We value the commitment to academic quality and serious Christian commitment that characterizes King’s. For this reason, we are quite hopeful that a partnership between Trinity and King’s will be beneficial for students and churches in the New York City area.”

“We at King’s are delighted to partner with Trinity, a renowned, solidly evangelical school with an esteemed pedigree, to offer courses in the New York City area,” said Dr. Gregory Alan Thornbury, President of The King’s College. “New York has played a key role in the development of Christianity in America, and our partnership with TEDS provides both institutions with a way participate in that work.”

In future semesters, TEDS hopes to offer other courses at the King’s campus. For more information about the Fall 2015 course offering, including syllabus and payment information, visit teds.edu/kings.
