This weekend the Lady Lions went north to Albany for the Albany Pharmacy Panther Invitational for Breast Cancer Awareness.

The team sported pink headbands for their games and wore pink tee shirts during their pre-game warmup. Prior to the first game, honorary captain, Kylie Locklar, presented a check made out to the American Cancer Society to the Albany Pharmacy team captains. The TKC team had done a last-minute tee shirt sale to help raise money for the event. The home team was also selling tee shirts and pizza at the tournament to raise money for breast cancer research, and they had secured sponsorships from several local businesses.

Unfortunately, the Lady Lions would drop two tough decisions at the tournament. On Friday they lost 3-1 to the hosts from Albany Pharmacy and on Saturday they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker in overtime to the New Hampshire Technical Institute. TKC had numerous chances to score in both games but just could not seem to find the back of the net when they needed it most. They’ll have a week to get back to practice before taking on Briarcliff on Saturday 9/13.
