Lecturer in Journalism
Melissa Harrison is a bilingual broadcast journalist with more than 20 years of experience in television and radio news. She has worked as a news anchor and reporter in six markets – including at WNBC-TV in New York and WFAA-TV in Dallas. Most recently, Melissa worked as a morning news anchor for the CBS Radio affiliate in Dallas/Ft. Worth.
Melissa currently serves as Managing Director of The Media Project. In addition, she also serves as an adjunct professor for the McCandlish Philips Journalism Institute at The King’s College. Melissa enjoys mentoring aspiring journalists by speaking and teaching at various seminars and conferences. She also speaks and writes extensively about her own personal journey through grief and traumatic loss.
Melissa holds a Master’s in Journalism from Columbia University and a BA in Spanish and Communications from Baylor University. She also studied with Syracuse University at the Instituto Internacional in Madrid, Spain. Melissa and her husband have three children.
