Walter Huddell ‘93 serves as a professor of Mathematics at Eastern University. With colleague Steven Boyer, Walter published “Mathematical Knowledge and Divine Mystery: Augustine and his Contemporary Challengers” in the Spring 2015 edition of Christian Scholars Review.

Rev. Dr. Lee B. Spitzer ‘77 writes, “I have been called to serve as the General Secretary of the American Baptist Churches USA, as of June 1, 2017, after serving for 14 years as the executive minister and senior regional pastor of the American Baptist Churches of New Jersey. ABCUSA has over 5,000 churches and about 1.2 million members. Also, my new book, Baptists, Jews and the Holocaust: The Hand of Sincere Friendship, will be published by Judson Press on September 1, 2017.”

Jack Arthur Schatz, the third child of Andrew ‘10 and Emily (Miller) Schatz ‘11, was born on June 27, 2017 at Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn. He joins older siblings Sonia and Clark, and shares a birthday with his big brother.

Margaret “Peggy” (Horton) Eckbold ‘56 passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2017. She is survived by her husband Harold Eckbold, two daughters, a son, and a grandson. Peggy was a Girl Scout leader and a Pioneer leader (a Christian Scout Club) for many years; she coached and was vice president of the Somers Point Softball League. She was a Trustee of the Somers Point Historical Society, a math and a computer teacher, and a member of the New Jersey State Teachers Union.
