Marian (Peifer) Borch ’54, who was college nurse and working on her B.S. in Delaware, left this world on February 24, 2016. She was originally planning to be a medical missionary, but because of a car accident she became a pastor’s wife. All who knew her remember her as an extraordinary lady. She was 85. She and her husband Bill had two sons, 5 grandchildren, and 1 great granddaughter. Bill writes: “Longing for the Resurrection! Jn. Donne said, ‘In heaven it’s always Autumn.’ Or occasionally,  Spring?” Bill Borch would love to hear from friends.

Sherwin Bowser ’56 writes, “Pat and I are planning to share our 61st wedding anniversary here in our home town of Centerville, Ohio. We have truly been blessed by our heavenly Father throughout these many years. What a journey with the Lord Jesus Christ as our guide! We would love to hear from anyone.”

David Pedersen ’64, although retired, is active in his local church and serves as chairman of the board of Soundview Pregnancy Services, which offers free sonograms and other services for women, at several locations on Long Island.

Janet On Anderson ’69 celebrated her 42nd wedding anniversary in May this year. Her husband recently retired from New York State Electric & Gas, and they enjoy traveling and ministering in their home church. They have two grown children and 2 adorable granddaughters!

Dr. Jay Mancini ’71, the A. M. Haltiwanger Distinguished Professor of Human Development and Family Science, has retired from The University of Georgia. Mancini is also Professor Emeritus of Human Development at Virginia Tech, having served on that faculty for 32 years. Mancini’s new book, Family Stress Management, with Pauline Boss and Chalandra Bryant, is now available from Sage Publications.

Nancy Buchanan Erhard ’73 passed away April 25, 2016. She leaves behind her husband W. Duane Erhard, 3 daughters and sons-in-law, and 8 grandchildren.

Pastor Doug Hautz ’84 was featured by the Christian and Missionary Alliance this month in an online story about how he has used his church to minister to people who have nowhere else to go. “Instead of inviting people to my church, I needed to be a supply for a need in my community,” he says.

Alma Ramos McDermott ’84 writes, “I was the Schools Coordinator with the Blue Zones Project SWFL for the past year, a free-to-the-community health initiative that works with individuals and their communities to help make the healthy choice easier. However, after working in education since 1984, I missed students and the school library setting. I am now a School Librarian at an elementary school in Immokalee, Florida, serving migrant and low-income students. I am very excited to make a difference in their lives this year, and to return to teaching.”

Jonathan Steele ’86 was promoted in August to Assistant Director of Career Planning at the Community College of Rhode Island.

Josh Craddock ’13 had an article, “Social Insecurity: The Case for Totalization with India,” published in volume 53, No. 2 of the Harvard Review. Read it here.

Maggie (O’Leary) Hernandez ’14 and her husband are moving to Columbia, TN after spending six wonderful years in NYC. They will welcome their first child in October.
