Congratulations to the Radandts on the publication of their story. It’s just possible it may lend encouragement in our own uncertain days.

This month’s history spotlight takes a break from the local history of The King’s College to focus on a part of world history that may be of particular interest to our community.

It’s unlikely any of us remember being left behind, at twelve years old, while attempting to evacuate as Russia advanced into Europe during Hitler’s retreat in the winter of 1945. And few of us have reason to inquire, when we meet someone as an adult, about the circumstances of their early life.

The story above belongs to none other than Dr. Friedhelm Radandt, the third president of The King’s College. He has written about his and his wife Elizabeth’s dramatic escapes, about how they came to meet and fall in love, and about the importance of their families’ faith in both series of events in his new book, The Radio Signal.

President Gregory Alan Thornbury says, “The Radio Signal is a true story of conviction and faith among religious dissenters and exiles at the height of Nazi aggression. If your faith needs a boost, read this book.”

Congratulations to the Radandts on the publication of their story. It’s just possible it may lend encouragement in our own uncertain days.
