“The past three years at King’s have been crucial for shaping my view of what ultimately matters. Since my particular course of study ranges from examining economic concepts to analyzing pivotal moments in Western Civilization, I quickly learned that many choices are grounded in good intentions, but they easily go awry. For me, this observation solidified an understanding that what we often value (money, power, etc.) is meaningless if we do not understand our place and purpose in this world.”

“Almost every class I took at King’s taught me how to be a clearer, more organized writer and thinker. Dr. Dru Johnson taught me that it wasn’t silly to want to seek knowledge and truth with your whole being and in your whole life, rather than as some rarefied, removed pursuit.”

“Prof. Dawn Fotopulos’s marketing courses and Principles of Management and Organization trained me how to find niche consumer segments and tap into them. Overall, the King’s politics, philosophy, and economics core has taught me to ask for the how and the why.”

“My parents met as missionaries in Japan and have continued to serve through Cru for over three decades. Growing up in a support-raising household, I learned to trust God for provision in all areas of life. When I decided I wanted to go to King’s, I knew I would need to trust Him to make it happen financially. Of course, He provided, through generous donors to the College.

My studies in Media, Culture, and the Arts included lessons in art at The Met and MoMA, Islamic studies firsthand in local mosques, backstage tours at the Lincoln Center, and of course, classroom lectures and discussions which formed me into the thinker and writer I am today. My studies at King’s and my experience in internships in the City were what eventually landed me my job after graduation.”
